Zotero is a free, open-source reference management tool designed to help researchers, students, and professionals organize, cite, and share their sources efficiently. It allows users to collect bibliographic data and full-text content from websites, databases, and other digital sources with just a few clicks. Zotero supports automatic citation generation in various formats, including APA, MLA, and Chicago, and integrates seamlessly with popular writing tools like Microsoft Word, Google Docs, and LaTeX editors. With its robust organizational features, such as tagging, note-taking, and collections, Zotero is an essential tool for managing and streamlining the research process. Its group collaboration feature also makes it a powerful platform for team-based projects.

You can install Zotero on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS by following these steps:

1. Download the Latest Version of Zotero

Instead of using a direct link, it’s recommended to download Zotero from the official Zotero website to ensure you obtain the latest and correct version.

  • Visit the Official Zotero Download Page:
  • Navigate to https://www.zotero.org/download/.
  • Click on the “Download” button for Linux to start downloading the latest tarball (.tar.bz2 file).
